Craig Kasper, PE
Principal
Hull & Associates, Inc

In addition to his business leadership, Mr. Kasper is one of the early pioneers in brownfield redevelopment. He is recognized throughout the country for his creative strategies and leadership in this emerging field.

He has directed many notable brownfield redevelopment projects that have helped reshape and stimulate local economies, including the Red Bank Road redevelopment in Cincinnati, Ohio; the Springfield Regional Cancer Treatment Center in Springfield, Ohio; the luxurious Miranova high rise along the Scioto River in downtown Columbus, Ohio; the $1.2 billion expansion of the DaimlerChrysler Jeep Assembly Plant in Toledo, Ohio; the Lakeview Bluffs redevelopment in Painesville, Ohio; and the former GM Baltimore Assembly Plant in Baltimore, Maryland.

In addition to routinely speaking at national venues, Mr. Kasper was invited to present as a guest lecturer at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design in November 2006. His presentation, “Value Added Strategies for Design Firms,” provided perspective on the environmental industry and how to overcome “commoditization” through value added strategies. Based on the overwhelming response to the presentation, Harvard invited Mr. Kasper to participate in additional guest lecturing opportunities as part of an overall series for the Graduate School of Design. He also participated in a comprehensive case study of the 1,100-acre Lakeview Bluffs redevelopment prepared by the Harvard Design School in the spring of 2007.

Mr. Kasper has testified before a U.S. House subcommittee on the impacts of brownfields in the Midwest and before the Ohio legislature in support of state Issue 1, the $400 million Clean Ohio Fund. As one of the original authors of Ohio’s brownfield legislation, he was appointed by former Ohio Governor George Voinovich to serve on a steering committee that developed Ohio’s Voluntary Action Program. In addition, he was invited to speak before former Ohio Governor Bob Taft’s cabinet to share his ideas on improving the state’s environmental programs and has presented at numerous state and national conferences, including the National Brownfield Conference. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Ohio Chamber of Commerce and is involved in many other community groups.
